Beninese nationals will soon have the opportunity to receive specialized training in emergency medicine, thanks to a new partnership between Benin and the Kingdom of Morocco.
The agreement was formalized during a visit from May 6 to 8, 2025, by a Beninese delegation led by Health Minister Benjamin Hounkpatin to the Cherifian Kingdom.
The trip allowed the Beninese delegation to tour state-of-the-art medical infrastructure in Casablanca and Rabat. Minister Hounkpatin and his team visited university hospitals, a health simulation center, specialized laboratories, and the Mohammed VI University of Health Sciences, where they assessed the quality and availability of emergency medicine training programs.
In a move to deepen cooperation in this field, both parties reviewed future avenues of collaboration, particularly in tele-education, medical simulation, and continuing education for healthcare professionals.
This partnership aims to strengthen Benin’s healthcare system by training highly qualified human resources to better address emergency health challenges. The visit concluded with the signing of a framework agreement formalizing this collaboration.
