HomeSportFootballUCL: Real Madrid slayers Arsenal already send warning to PSG

After knocking out Real Madrid, Arsenal will face PSG in the semi-finals of the UEFA Champions League—a clash that promises fireworks. Gunners’ manager Mikel Arteta has already issued a word of warning to the Parisians.

For the first time since 2009, Arsenal are through to the semi-finals of the Champions League. The Gunners booked their spot in the last four after a sensational performance against Real Madrid in the quarter-finals. Dominant in the first leg at the Emirates Stadium (3–0), the English side finished the job at the Santiago Bernabeu with a 2–1 win.

Now qualified, the Gunners will face PSG in the next round—an opponent widely regarded as one of the top contenders for the title. But that doesn’t seem to faze Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta. Clearly eager for the challenge, the Spanish coach had a message for the Parisians.

“It will be a special moment (against PSG), but first we have to enjoy this—it’s a great achievement for us,” he told Canal+. “Luis Enrique? He’s incredible. I’ve been a huge fan of Enrique for years—he’s an amazing coach and what he’s built with this team is special: the consistency, the style of play… it’s going to be tough for us. I’m happy to return to the Parc des Princes, yes, it’ll be special for me—I played there and I loved it. It was where I made my professional debut,” he told the press.

The first leg of the semi-final between Arsenal and PSG is scheduled for Wednesday, April 29, 2025, at the Emirates Stadium. The return leg will take place on May 7 at the Parc des Princes.
