HomeSportFootballSPL: Benzema and Al Ittihad stun Ronaldo's Al Nassr in dramatic comeback

In a thrilling Saudi Pro League showdown on Wednesday night, Al Ittihad pulled off a stunning 3-2 comeback victory over Al Nassr, thanks to second-half goals from Karim Benzema, N’Golo Kanté, and a last-gasp winner from Houssem Aouar. The result puts Al Ittihad in pole position for the league title, while Al Nassr’s hopes have all but faded.

With Cristiano Ronaldo and Sadio Mané starting, Al Nassr came out firing. The Senegalese star opened the scoring just three minutes into the game with a thunderous strike. The home side doubled their lead in the 37th minute through Yahia, capitalizing on a dominant first half.

But the second half belonged to Al Ittihad. Karim Benzema sparked the comeback in the 49th minute with a close-range finish, and just three minutes later, N’Golo Kanté leveled the score with a pinpoint strike into the bottom corner.

As the match seemed destined for a draw, Houssem Aouar completed the turnaround with a dramatic 94th-minute winner, silencing the Al Nassr faithful.

The victory gives Al Ittihad a crucial four-point lead over Al Hilal with just four matches left in the season. For Al Nassr, currently fourth in the standings, the defeat likely spells the end of their title aspirations.
