Senegal: Sangomar oil field has already exported 3.8 million barrels in 2025

The Sangomar oil and gas field, located about 100 kilometers off the coast of Dakar, has already exported four cargoes of crude oil since production began in January 2025. The announcement was made Monday by Senegal’s Ministry of Energy, Petroleum and Mines.

According to the statement, the four cargoes—designated SAN027 to SAN030—represent a total of 3.8 million barrels sold on the international market. The ministry praised the “strong performance” of this strategic site so far.

In parallel, 548,078 normal cubic meters (Nm³) of natural gas were sold during the first quarter of the year. Production forecasts for 2025 remain unchanged, with Senegal aiming to extract 30.53 million barrels of crude by year’s end.

The Sangomar field is operated by Australian energy company Woodside Energy.
