Kylian Mbappé continues to make history in his first season with Real Madrid. The French striker scored a stunning goal in Wednesday night’s 2-1 victory over Mallorca, surpassing club legend Alfredo Di Stefano’s long-standing record for most goals scored by a Madrid player in their debut season.
Fresh off a hat-trick against Barcelona on Sunday, Mbappé was once again on target in La Liga’s 36th matchday. After Mallorca took the lead, the Bondy native netted the equalizer for the Merengues, bringing his league tally to 28 goals this season—three more than his closest rival, Robert Lewandowski, in the top scorers’ chart.
This impressive milestone allows the French international to eclipse the record set by Alfredo Di Stefano, who had scored 27 goals in his first season with Real Madrid during the 1953–1954 campaign.
Mbappé’s impact at the Bernabéu is already rewriting the club’s history books, and he shows no signs of slowing down.
