Former England and Real Madrid manager Fabio Capello has spoken out against how the Spanish giants are handling the situation surrounding current coach Carlo Ancelotti.

Ancelotti is set to leave the club at the end of the season to take over the Brazilian national team. He is expected to be replaced at the Santiago Bernabéu by former Real Madrid midfielder and current Bayer Leverkusen coach Xabi Alonso.

But Capello, who had two stints in charge of Los Blancos, believes the decision to part ways with Ancelotti is unjust.

“Carlo Ancelotti’s case? Yes, I still think it’s unfair. But at Real Madrid, you have to win,” Capello told El Partidazo de COPE. “He’s won everything, but you have to accept the changes. I won a title and they fired me.”

Ancelotti remains the most successful manager in Real Madrid’s history, with 15 trophies to his name, including three UEFA Champions League titles during his spells at the club. Despite his success, the club’s relentless demand for fresh leadership appears to be driving yet another high-profile managerial change.
