P-Square: Jude Okoye released from prison

HomePeopleCelebrityP-Square: Jude Okoye released from prison

Jude Okoye, the former manager of the music group P-Square, has been released from prison after two months in detention.

The elder brother of twins Paul and Peter was charged by the anti-corruption agency, alongside his company Northside Music Limited, on seven counts related to money laundering. His release was announced on Wednesday by Paul Okoye, popularly known as Rudeboy.

Sharing a series of videos on Instagram showing him and others welcoming Jude home, Paul wrote: “Jude is finally free after more than two months… all their efforts to prevent him from being granted bail have finally failed. Welcome home, my brother #judeengees. And happy birthday. Good to have you back, blood.”

Rudeboy has accused his twin brother, Peter Okoye—commonly known as Mr. P of P-Square—of being behind Jude’s legal troubles and detention. Last week, Peter testified against Jude before the Federal High Court in Lagos. He detailed how Jude had allegedly registered a new company in his wife’s name and used it to divert royalties that rightfully belonged to P-Square. The court has adjourned the case to June 4 for cross-examination.
