Ivorian comedian Observateur Ebène has shared a message for his fans from his prison cell.

Observateur Ebène, a web comedian, was sentenced to 12 months in prison, six of them non-suspended, along with a fine of five million FCFA. Following his conviction, he sent out a message thanking his supporters. “Thank you for surrounding me with your love during this trial. It is a source of strength and comfort for me,” read a post on the comedian’s Facebook page.

He continued by adding not to blame the plaintiff. “Especially do not hold it against the plaintiff, who remains a victim, and I am determined to learn from this experience…,” he added.

Moreover, to conclude the post, a mobile money number was shared for those who wish to provide financial support to help him pay his fine.

It should be noted that the web comedian had previously narrowly escaped prison after his harsh remarks on Ivorian rapper Didi B and his wife. In that video, he had targeted Didi B’s wife over the fact that she had not yet had children.
