HomeSportFootballLa Liga: Real Madrid has chosen Carlo Ancelotti’s replacement

As Carlo Ancelotti appears to be entering his final weeks on the Real Madrid bench, the club has already selected his successor. The Casa Blanca has set its sights on Argentine coach Santiago Solari.

There is no longer any doubt: Carlo Ancelotti will leave Real Madrid at the end of the season. The club has decided to buy out the final year of the Italian manager’s contract, with Ancelotti expected to continue his career in Brazil as head coach of the Seleção.

And for his replacement, Real Madrid has already found the ideal candidate. According to AS on Tuesday, it will be Argentine coach Santiago Solari. A former Madrid player and a past interim manager of the first team, the 48-year-old will lead the Merengues during the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup. After that, Xabi Alonso is set to take over for the start of the new season.

To carry out his mission, Solari has reportedly made several requests to his new employers to strengthen the attack. In addition to Trent Alexander-Arnold, who is expected to arrive soon from Liverpool, the Argentine coach has also asked for the signing of his young compatriot, 17-year-old Franco Mastantuono.

Also targeted by PSG, the River Plate attacking midfielder has long been on Real Madrid’s radar. Solari is keen to bring him in ahead of the Club World Cup. His transfer fee is set at €45 million, the value of his release clause.
