JIF 2024: Moov Africa Benin Donates Significant Kits to Women and Children of Sô Tchanhoué

Moov Africa Benin, through its Foundation, donated substantial materials to women’s groups on Friday, March 8, 2024, in Sô-Tchanhoué, to mark the International Women’s Rights Day. School kits were also distributed to the students of this district.

The entire world is celebrating International Women’s Rights Day this Friday, March 8, 2024. Moov Africa Benin, via its Foundation, has not remained on the sidelines of this celebration. They chose the district of Sô-Tchanhoué, in the commune of Sô-Ava, for their initiative.

With the aim of reiterating its social commitment, which is to improve the living conditions of the most vulnerable social layers: women and children, and to connect with the theme of this year’s celebration, “Investing in women, accelerating the pace,” the Moov Africa Benin Foundation donated a significant batch of materials including mobile phones, solar freezers, adapted bacteria, solar panels, condiment mills, buckets, and basins of various categories to women’s groups in the lake village. They also thought of the children, whose academic success is a matter of pride for their parents and for the entire nation, by providing them with school kits consisting of bags, notebooks, slates, pens, pots of glue, pencils.

For Marie-Claude Deguenon, the representative of the General Director, Moov Africa Benin did not want to stay back from this celebration. “Moov Africa Benin wanted to participate in the empowerment of women, starting several months ago, by facilitating communication for the community of Sô Ava in general and for women in particular, by installing a system that allows them to have a somewhat easier communication flow. Today we decided to support a few women’s groups in the accomplishment of their activities with the donation of some materials, but also to congratulate your children,” said the General Director’s representative.

According to Aurore Houngbedji, the executive secretary of the Moov Africa Benin Foundation, an autonomous and fulfilled woman is the guarantee of a happy home, a peaceful community, and ultimately, a stable and developed nation. A woman who has access to economic opportunities, control over resources, and fully enjoys her social rights actively contributes to the progress of her household, community, country, and humanity. It is with this perspective that Moov Africa Benin made this donation to the women and children of the Sô Tchanhoué district.

He also thanked the women’s groups in the commune, who work with dedication and courage to support their families, despite socioeconomic pressures.

The beneficiaries express their gratitude to Moov Africa Benin

The representative of the beneficiaries, Mireille Atoko, thanked the Foundation for this grand gesture towards them. “Dear members of Moov Africa Benin, we thank you for what you have done for the lacustrine women. We are moved. When the event was announced, we did not expect to receive such significant donations. Our joy is so great, that all we can say is thank you to Moov Africa Benin,” Mireille Atoko expressed.

The ceremony concluded with an unprecedented festive atmosphere.
