HomePeopleCelebrityIvory Coast: Kerozen Opens Up About International Star Didier Drogba

Ivorian singer Kerozen remains a super fan of Didier Drogba. He has recently spoken out about his strong connection with the star.

The former captain of the Elephants, Didier Drogba, and the famous Ivorian singer Constant Joël Yobo, better known by his stage name Kerozen, have maintained very close fraternal ties for years. During an appearance on the show “Show Buzz,” aired on the New Ivorian Channel (NCI) on Monday, March 11, 2024, Kerozen once again discussed this relationship.

In response to a question from Mulukuku DJ and his panelists, who were curious why Didier Drogba’s name is mentioned in his songs, Kerozen candidly replied that Drogba is simply his idol. “My relationship with Didier Drogba started because he is my idol. At one point, I noticed that several artists had stopped singing his name. Didier is a legend, so I took it upon myself to regularly sing his name in my songs to motivate him again. It wasn’t maliciously that artists had stopped singing his name, but for me, there was a musical silence around him that I didn’t like. Didier is the boss; we must celebrate him for what he has brought us,” replied Kerozen before sending a beautiful message for Drogba’s 46th birthday.

As a reminder, Kerozen even supported international player Didier Drogba during his bid for the presidency of the Ivorian Football Federation (FIF). He even went to Yamoussoukro to accompany him. On the return journey, the interpreter of the hit song “Marijo” was involved in a serious car accident. Touched by the incident, Didier Drogba decided to offer him a new car, but Kerozen declined the offer.
