Ivory Coast: investigation opened against Komé Bakary for document falsification

In Ivory Coast, the Prosecutor’s Office at the Court of First Instance in Bingerville released a statement on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, regarding an ongoing case involving allegations of document forgery and the use of forged documents against Mr. Komé Bakary.

According to the statement, the Prosecutor’s Office was notified on March 19 and 20, 2025, by Messrs. Mambo Gérard and Mambo Yapi, who filed formal complaints accusing Mr. Komé Bakary of falsification and use of falsified documents. The complaints were forwarded on March 20 to the 40th District Police Station for further investigation.

Following the police inquiry, the preliminary investigation report was submitted to the Prosecutor’s Office, which led to the opening of a judicial investigation on April 4, 2025, by the court’s first investigative chamber to further examine the allegations.

The statement also notes that a third complaint, filed on March 25 by Mr. Assalé Tiémoko Antoine and also targeting Mr. Komé Bakary for the same alleged offenses, was dismissed. The reason: the claims are already being addressed under the ongoing judicial investigation.

Additionally, the Prosecutor’s Office reported difficulties in notifying Mr. Assalé Tiémoko of the dismissal decision due to his repeated unavailability. The investigation is still ongoing and is being handled by the first examining chamber of the Bingerville Court of First Instance.
