Ivory Coast: fuel prices remain unchanged for May 2025

In Ivory Coast, the Ministry of Mines, Petroleum and Energy has released the official fuel price structure for the period of May 1 to 31, 2025. The announcement, issued by the Directorate General of Hydrocarbons, applies nationwide, including in the district of Abidjan.

For the third consecutive month, fuel prices at the pump remain unchanged. A liter of unleaded gasoline continues to retail at 855 CFA francs, diesel at 700 CFA, and kerosene at 730 CFA. This pricing stability reflects the government’s intention to shield consumers from the effects of international market fluctuations.

As for butane gas, widely used in households, prices vary depending on cylinder size. The 6 kg cylinder remains at 2,000 CFA francs, the 12.5 kg at 5,200 CFA, and the 15 kg at 6,965 CFA. Larger formats are priced at 8,125 CFA for 17.5 kg, 11,610 CFA for 25 kg, and 13,000 CFA for 28 kg.

The ministry also clarified pricing for industrial petroleum products in the Abidjan district:

  • DDO (Distillate Diesel Oil) is set at 618 CFA/kg, and 566 CFA/kg for the tax-exempt version;
  • Fuel oil 180 is priced at 457 CFA/kg;
  • Bulk industrial butane and bottles over 28 kg are priced at 530.143 CFA/kg.

All service stations are required to clearly display these prices for the duration of the period. Any violation will be subject to penalties in accordance with existing regulations. The goal is to ensure transparency and protect consumers from overpricing.
