During a recent interview, the lead vocalist of the Zouglou group Magic System unveiled how he managed to stop smoking.

In a recent talk, A’Salfo, whose real name is Salif Traoré, the lead vocalist of the Ivorian zouglou group “Magic System” discussed the benefits of marriage. According to him, he has experienced significant benefits from his marriage. The evidence lies in the fact that he was able to stop smoking thanks to his eldest daughter.

At that time, I was a heavy smoker. And since Anoumabo, I tried all means to quit smoking (which is highly incompatible with the profession of a singer).

On several occasions, I tried, but I never managed to get past the ‘difficult’ three-month mark. However, an event was going to change my life as a smoker positively and definitively.

A few days before her birthday, one evening, I asked my eldest what she would like as a birthday present. To my great surprise, Rebecca replied: ‘Daddy, I want you to stop smoking on my birthday. That will be my most beautiful gift.’

Believe it or not, from that date to this day (10 years), I have never touched a cigarette again. The proofs of love often reside in our actions and sometimes help us to brave the impossible,” A’Salfo revealed.
