On Monday, Lamine Yamal was named World Breakthrough of the Year at the 2025 Laureus World Sports Awards held in Madrid. At just 17 years old, the Barça winger won Euro 2024 with Spain and is now chasing both La Liga and Champions League titles. He currently leads the league in assists with 14 to his name.
His remarkable achievements have not gone unnoticed by football legend Luis Figo. Attending the ceremony, the former Portuguese international hailed the young Spaniard as “the best” and said other players should take inspiration from Yamal’s fearless approach in big matches.
