Former Abidjan prefect Vincent Toh Bi Irié announced on Tuesday his candidacy for the October 2025 presidential election.
In a formal address to the nation, the former senior civil servant outlined his political vision, centered on “rupture,” “openness,” and “national reconciliation.”
“I am a candidate for the October 2025 presidential election,” he declared, marking his entry into what is already shaping up to be a highly competitive race. Known for his close ties with local communities during his tenure as head of the Abidjan district, Toh Bi Irié now aims to make his mark on the national political landscape.
Speaking in a tone both firm and unifying, the candidate directly addressed Ivorians: “It’s time to stop being spectators and become actors in our shared future.” His message focused on the concerns of the “forgotten”—small traders, artisans, and unemployed graduates—clearly aiming to appeal to the popular electorate.
In closing, Vincent Toh Bi Irié called on “all the vital forces of the nation” to join him in building “a stable, prosperous, and united Ivory Coast.” His message positions him as an alternative to traditional political divides, just months ahead of a pivotal election.
