HomeSportFootballChampions League: Lamine Yamal makes bold vow after Barça’s elimination

Barcelona winger Lamine Yamal has pledged that he and his teammates will not stop fighting until they bring the UEFA Champions League trophy back to the Camp Nou.

Barça’s European campaign came to a heartbreaking end on Tuesday night as they were knocked out in the semi-finals by Inter Milan. After a 3-3 draw in the first leg, the Blaugrana fell 4-3 in a thrilling return leg at San Siro.

Goals from Lautaro Martinez, Hakan Calhanoglu, Eric Garcia, Dani Olmo, Raphinha, and Francesco Acerbi left the score tied at 3-3 after 90 minutes. But in extra time, Davide Frattesi struck the decisive goal, sending Inter through to their second final in three years. The Nerazzurri will now await the winner of the PSG–Arsenal clash.

Speaking to the press after the match, a visibly emotional Lamine Yamal expressed his disappointment but made a passionate promise to the club’s supporters.

“We gave it everything — it wasn’t possible this year, but we will be back, don’t doubt it. Culers, we won’t stop until we put this club back where it belongs: at the top. I promise you — I will bring this trophy to Barcelona. We won’t stop until we do,” he vowed, as quoted by Fabrizio Romano.

A Clásico with the title at stake

While their Champions League dream is over for now, Barça still have domestic ambitions. Up next is the final Clásico of the season against arch-rivals Real Madrid. A win at the Santiago Bernabéu would secure the La Liga title for Xavi’s men.

Yamal, already turning his focus to the weekend, added: “Sunday is another final, and we must all stand together. Visca el Barça!”
