Cameroon: 17-year-old girl dies in accident involving Francis Ngannou

Francis Ngannou, former UFC heavyweight champion, has been involved in a tragic motorcycle accident that occurred earlier this month in the Omnisports neighborhood of Yaoundé, Cameroon. The accident claimed the life of Ntsama Brigitte Manuella, a 17-year-old girl.

The incident took place while Ngannou, 38, was riding a motorcycle and allegedly collided with the young girl. She sustained severe injuries to her arm and leg and was rushed to Yaoundé General Hospital by Ngannou himself. Despite undergoing emergency surgery, she did not survive her injuries.

According to local media reports, including Camer.be, Lebledparle, and ActuCameroun, the athlete covered all medical expenses and stayed by the victim’s side in the hours following the accident. A medical source cited by 237online stated that the girl had suffered severe trauma to her limbs requiring immediate surgery. Sadly, she passed away during the operation.

Francis Ngannou is reportedly deeply shaken by the tragedy. So far, neither Ngannou nor his representatives have issued an official statement regarding the incident.
