A few days after his car accident, the Mayor of Cotonou, Luc Sètondji Atrokpo, has broken his silence.

The mayor of the city of Cotonou, Luc Sètondji Atrokpo, while traveling to Natitingou on Wednesday, February 28, 2024, was involved in a serious road accident near Gankpétin, in Dassa-Zoumé.

About a week after the tragedy, the mayor has come out of his silence. He did so through a message of thanksgiving to the Lord, as well as expressions of gratitude to all those who supported him during this difficult time, which he shared on his Facebook page on the evening of Tuesday, March 5, 2024. “‘Exalt the Lord with me! Let us all celebrate His name!’ Psalms 34:3. It is not by my personal merit. It is by the favor of your daily prayers to the Merciful on my behalf. Without exception, I am profoundly grateful. I also extend my gratitude to the political and administrative authorities at various levels, and to the moral and religious leaders. Thank you one and all. May God keep us,” wrote the mayor.

It should be noted that there was one fatality in the accident.
