Benin: a luxury hotel complex coming soon to Grand-Popo

Grand-Popo is preparing to welcome a top-of-the-range hotel complex, as part of a vast program to modernize Benin’s tourism offering.

The government has given the go-ahead for the contractualization of work to develop an urban and seaside resort on the site of the former Auberge de Grand-Popo.

This ambitious project calls for the construction of an R 3 hotel with 65 to 70 standard rooms, 10 junior suites and 2 presidential suites. In addition, 4 to 6 F3 and F4 villas will be built for private individuals, offering a residential alternative within the complex.

To guarantee an immersive experience for visitors, several leisure and relaxation facilities will be integrated: restaurants, swimming pools, children’s areas and other facilities designed to attract a diverse clientele.

This government initiative is part of a drive to develop upscale tourism in Benin, by bringing the hotel offer up to international standards.

The project will take 24 months to complete, with an initial 6-month design phase, followed by 18 months of construction work.

With this new infrastructure, Grand-Popo aims to become an essential tourist destination, combining luxury, comfort and seaside appeal.
