The bridge spanning the Logone River, linking the Cameroonian town of Yagoua (in the Far North region) to the Chadian city of Bongor, was officially inaugurated on Monday by Cameroon’s Prime Minister Joseph Dion Ngute and his Chadian counterpart Allamaye Halina, according to national broadcaster CRTV.
Measuring 620 meters in length, this strategic infrastructure aims to strengthen the Douala-N’Djamena corridor and boost trade between the two countries.
The project was made possible thanks to financial support from the African Development Bank, the African Development Fund, the European Union, as well as contributions from the Cameroonian and Chadian governments.
