Bafana Bafana head coach Hugo Broos has announced his squad for the upcoming World Cup 2026 qualifiers against Lesotho and Benin, with forward Percy Tau making his return to the national team.

As part of the qualifying campaign for the 2026 World Cup, South Africa is set to play two key fixtures in March. The Bafana Bafana will take on Lesotho and Benin on the 21st and 25th, respectively, as part of the fifth and sixth rounds of the qualification phase.

Aiming to secure six points and take a decisive step toward qualification, coach Hugo Broos has named a strong squad. The standout news is the return of Percy Tau. Absent since June 2024 due to tensions with the national team, the Qatar-based striker brings valuable experience and attacking creativity to the side.

Another significant comeback is that of goalkeeper Ronwen Williams (Mamelodi Sundowns), despite recent health concerns. Lyle Foster (Burnley), who has struggled with injuries in recent months, is also included to bolster South Africa’s attack.

Jayden Adams, previously dropped in October for disciplinary reasons, has earned a recall thanks to his impressive club performances.

South Africa’s squad:

Goalkeepers: Ronwen Williams (Mamelodi Sundowns), Ricardo Goss (SuperSport United), Sipho Chaine (Orlando Pirates), Sydney Mobbie (SuperSport United)

Defenders: Grant Kekana (Mamelodi Sundowns), Thabo Molloisane (Stellenbosch FC), Nkosinathi Sibisi (Orlando Pirates), Aubrey Modiba (Mamelodi Sundowns), Siyabonga Ngezana (FCSB), Khuliso Mudau (Mamelodi Sundowns), Fawaaz Basadien (Stellenbosch FC), Tebogo Mokoena (Mamelodi Sundowns)
