Benin: Monday, April 1, 2024 Declared a Public Holiday, Off Work and Paid

The day of Monday, March 27, 2024, is declared a public holiday, off work, and paid throughout the entire territory of Benin.

In a statement dated Wednesday, March 27, 2024, the Minister of Labor and Public Service, Adidjatou Mathis, declared Monday, April 1st to be a public holiday, off work, and paid throughout the national territory, in accordance with the provisions of Law No. 90-019 of July 27, 1990, governing public holidays in the Republic of Benin.

It should be noted that among Roman Catholics around the world, the celebration of Easter is the principal feast of the Catholic faith, commemorating the resurrection from the dead of Jesus Christ, who was crucified on Good Friday.
