During the Cabinet Meeting on Monday, March 18, 2024, resolutions aimed at improving the professional circumstances for Candidates for the Teaching Profession (AME) were adopted.

The Cabinet Meeting on Monday, March 18, 2024, introduced new measures in favor of Candidates for the Teaching Profession (AME) in Benin. Although specific details remain pending publication, it is important to note that six major decisions benefiting Candidates for the Teaching Profession (AME) assigned to high schools and elementary schools in the public sector have been made:

  • Suspended AMEs Reinstated for Strike Encouragement
  • AME’s Salary Increased from 11 to 12 Months Starting This Academic Year
  • AMEs Now Entitled to Health Insurance Equal to State Officials
  • Female AMEs Granted Maternity Leave
  • AMEs to Now Receive a National Service Commitment Allowance of 20,000 per Month Starting March
  • Free Tuition Fees for AME Children
